$880,000 Camden County Verdict For Chiropractor Injured While Playing Patient At Educational Seminar

A verdict in excess of $880,000 was awarded by a Camden County, New Jersey jury to a chiropractor who was injured while playing the role of a patient at an educational seminar. During the seminar, the chiropractor, a double amputee due to a childhood accident, climbed onto a mock examination table that shifted and caused him to fall. He broke his femur, which required surgery. The leg later became infected in the hospital. Prior to the accident the plaintiff was able to ambulate with the assistance of prosthetic legs however, after the accident, he has been confined to a wheelchair.
