New Jersey Personal Injury Lawyers

Two lawsuits brought under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act against Conrail and NJ Transit recently settled for a total of $2.05 million. It was alleged in the actions that the injured workers, who both previously held the title of track man, developed cancer due to exposure to various toxic substances on the job. It was alleged that the defendants failed to warn the employees that they were exposed to dangerous materials on the job and failed to provide them proper protective equipment or test the environment that the men worked in. Both cases settled shortly before separate trials were to begin.
